I first came across Melbourne’s Loon Lake at the start of the year, on a 40 degree day. It’s hard to believe it’s ever been that hot, sitting in here while the wind blows a gale outside and the mercury hovers around the early teens. (Shut up – that’s damn cold where I come from!)
Back then Loon Lake didn’t even have a myspace, though they’ve rectified that now, and have three demos available for your listening pleasure. ‘Easy Chairs’ is the most recent, while ‘Into The Office’ was my first taste of Loon Lake and remains my favourite track. It’s fairly unpolished knock-about-the-shed kinda indie pop and it’s as infectious as all get out. Whatever that is. Enjoy!
