(Threadless shirt ‘Night Sky Projector’ by Ben Chen)

Some links to kick off your Friday…

Firstly,  Threadless is still awesome.

Listen to Josh Ritter performing live in Philadelphia here.

Liz over at The Blisslist made me laugh yesterday. She’s right about John Mayer, you know.

Kill Rock Stars has a sampler ripe for free download, featuring artists I’m familiar with, such as The Decemberists, Horse Feathers, Thao, Elliot Smith, Gossip and Deerhoof, along with artists I don’t know so much about, like The Thermals, Unwound, The Paper Chase, Comet Gain, The Shaky Hands and loads more.

I also came across another download via new blogroll addition I Am The Crime. It’s called Home Compilation Vol. 1 and features 15 up and coming artists off the Rash Records label. While it is possible to download it for free, you can also choose your own price to help pay for the production of the next volume.

And now for the coverage:

Use Somebody (Kings Of Leon Cover) – Paramore

Two Weeks (Grizzly Bear Cover) – Ruby Weapon

Act Nice And Gentle (The Kinks Cover) – The Black Keys

Suzanne (Leonard Cohen Cover) – Asobi Seksu

The above four covers are courtesy of Indie Rock Cafe, where you can also find a pile of other covers from bands such as Radiohead, Green Day, Atlas Sound, M. Ward, Broken Social Scene, Band Of Horses, Andrew Bird, The Kooks and loads more.

These two I’ve had kicking around for a while.

Something In The Way (Nirvana Cover) – Stereophonics

Nothing Compares 2 U (Sinead O’Connor Cover) – Stereophonics*

*I know Prince wrote it, but I think we can all agree that Sinead did the definitive version.
