I first posted about The Sweet Serenades back in April and they’ve stuck with me throughout the year, with ‘First Taste Of Trouble’ making the 48th spot in my Top 50 songs of 2008. Along with Motel Motel, The Sweet Serenades are about the only good thing to turn up in my inbox all year.

Hailing from Sweden (where else?) they play a brand of indie pop that is incredibly infectious, complete with handclaps, catchy riffs and lots of ‘oooohs’ that you can’t help but sing along to. New single ‘Mona Lee’ is no exception and is yet more proof that the Swedes have hit on some kind of winning formula when it comes to indie pop that leaves the rest of the world cowering in shame.
