I nicked this idea from Music Like Dirt, who in turn pinched it from somewhere else. The idea is to put your music player of choice on random and note the opening line of 21 tracks in a row. The idea is not to skip any, though I did flick past instrumentals and spoken word stuff and Sigur Ros and artist double ups. So it’s not strictly the first 21 from my shuffle list, but it’s pretty close. Your job is to see if you can figure out what the songs are. Answer in the comments and no googling you big cheater!

Correct! Shoulda known you’d get those two. Elspeth will be kicking herself – she knew no. 6 but didn’t comment when she should’ve. Tsk tsk…
Nice one Mezza!

You’ve been to my blog enough to know anything with a space theme is going to be short work for me. Almost. 😀
Wow, I haven’t thought about that song since the last time I thought about that song. 😛
Should’ve known you’d be the one to crack it Chris! It’s not a bad little tune. Another one crossed off the list, we’re doing well!
4. the modern leper – frightened rabbit
Is the last one Wreckless Eric? The Whole Wide World? I love that song, and as I sing it to myself right now, I must hear it! Funny, though, there are a zillion songs that start off that way…so I could be wrong about which one it is.
Spot on Calliieee, nice one! It’s a great song Nat, I love it too and you’ve got it in one!
20. Changes by David Bowie
I love these kinds of “games”. Given just a random lyric of even the most familiar song can make it sometimes so hard to pin the song down. Now I am just disappointed that I can’t figure out any others!
Beautiful work Tricia! I was surprised that this one took a little while to be guessed actually, but you are right, it is quite tricky when it’s taken out of context and obviously without the tune as well.
