Tough Customer is a recent discovery and I love the writing on this blog. Each post starts off in a seemingly obscure where-the-hell-is-he-going-with-this way, until everything clicks into place and leads neatly into whatever band or track he’s featuring and then you’re all ‘ohhh yeah, of course’. Check out the Dangermaker post, and the Hi-Fidel one, which begins with facts about cockroaches and the decomposition of glass before wrapping up with a discussion of the modern rhyme of hip hop. Very cool.

Music For Kids Who Don’t Read Good is one of the first blogs I started reading regularly. Check out un mélange de chansons (translation: mix of songs), that features songs with titles that are in a different language than the lyrics. You’ll find some Shearwater here, as well as Arcade Fire, Of Montreal, Belle and Sebastian and more. Nice.

Head to Music Underfire for a Labor Day Weekend Mix – for us Southern Hemisphere folk, that means some summer tunes. Zeon’s Music Blog also has a So Long Summer Mix featuring some truly summery goodness.

Catch Of The Day:

A new Band Of Horses track, captured from their recent performance at Glastonbury. A sign of great things to come.
