It’s a simple idea, where I post songs that all have one thing in common – the letter that they begin with. Original? Not at all. Pointless? Probably.
Having said that though, every song is highly recommended and should be checked out by your good self immediately!
Paper Cups – Andy Whittle UK singer-songwriter Andy Whittle crafts acoustic gems that I find calming and easy to listen to. He has several dates booked in the UK in the next few months. See his website for details as well as 60 second samples of his debut album Old Fashioned Dream.
Pass It On (Live) – The Coral Another UK band, The Coral play a blend of psych/folk/rock. They’re also aiming to write film scores in the future. Their stuff is good – pass it on. (badoom-chhh…I’m here all week).
Peachy – Missy Higgins I was lucky enough to see Missy Higgins “before she was famous” at A Day On The Green at least four years ago. Now well known all over the globe, her popularity continues to grow.
Penny Lane – The Beatles This is my favourite Beatles song. It’s fun and peppy and I love the imagery.
People Turn Around – Delta Spirit Delta Spirit continue to score serious blog love…here’s some more.
Persuasion (Tim Finn Cover) – Stellar These guys are an Aussie coverband. I can’t find much info on them, but they covered Tim Finn’s ‘Persuasion’ on She Will Have Her Way: The Songs Of Neil & Tim Finn, and I reckon they did a pretty good job.
Poor Little Rich Boy (Live) – Regina Spektor The last Regina song I posted a few letters ago was pretty well received with you lot, so here’s another from her performance at Bonnaroo last year.
Check out the rest of the alphabet here.
