letterc2.jpgIt’s a simple idea, where I post songs that all have one thing in common – the letter that they begin with. Original? Not at all. Pointless? Probably.

Having said that though, every song is highly recommended and should be checked out by your good self immediately!

Can’t Take It In – Imogen Heap

This song comes from the Narnia soundtrack and when I hear it I think of the movie – not the events that happen in the film, but rather the awesome scenery. I always picture sweeping aerial shots of the mountains that they trek through on their way to visit the White Witch.

Can’t close my eyes
I’m wide awake
Every hair on my body
Has got a thing for this place
Oh, empty my heart
I’ve got to make room for this feeling
It’s so much bigger than me

Came A Long Way – Heartless Bastards

Oh it’s those little things that eat at your soul,
And I’m not going to worry about them no more

Challengers – New Pornographers

Was reluctant to check these guys out at first, due to their name, thinking they’d be depraved and freaky. Couldn’t be further from the truth. Check out their 2007 album Challengers. It’s wonderful.

On the walls of the day
In the shade of the sun
We wrote down
Another vision of us
We were the challengers of
The unknown

Clarity – John Mayer

I worry, I weigh three times my body
I worry, I throw my fear around
But this morning, there’s a calm I can’t explain
Rock candy’s melted, only diamonds now remain

Mayer says this song is about ‘the first few seconds after waking up in the morning when you don’t remember about all of the problems and worries in your life.’ I don’t really care what it’s about, I just like the sound and all the “ooh ooh ooh ooh’s”.

Closer – Josh Radin

The clouds in your eyes
Down your face they pour
Won’t you be the new one burn to shine
I take the blue ones every time

Cocaine – Eric Clapton

Classic track featuring what has to be one of the catchiest riffs ever.

Come As You Are – Nirvana

I was still a kid when Nirvana was doing their thing, but I remember hearing this track on the radio all the time.

Crown Of Love – Arcade Fire

I’m not a big Arcade Fire fan, but at The National gig at The Corner in January they were played this track as the band set up, and I love it.

They say it fades if you let it, love was made to forget it.
I carved your name across my eyelids, you pray for rain I pray for blindness.
If you still want me, please forgive me, the crown of love is not upon me.

Check out the rest of the alphabet here.
