Switch your player on shuffle, flick through to Track 13 and tell me what it is. Here’s mine.
The Hush Now hail from the USA and you can pick up both their 2008 self-titled debut as well as their February release Constellations for free right here.
Patrick Wolf – The Railway House
Sept 15, 1983 – the one and only Mountain Goats
God, I really must get up to speed with all this technology and stuff. What’s thirteenth on my player? All I know is what CD is getting a thrashing on my loungeroom-based stezzer. And that is ‘The Winter of Mixed Drinks’ by Frightened Rabbit. Does that count?
Joe – very nice! I like Patrick Wolf.
Elspeth – love the MG’s, enough said.
Nigel – it would count if it had 13 tracks on it! It’s FR though, so I’m prepared to let it slide.
Mine is out of batteries…. Agggaaaiiinnn.
Off to charge it
ha! its a classic, Help by the beatles. i dont know of one person who doesnt like the beatles atleast alittle
“Going Home” by Jimmy LaFave.
Oh Pedro. I await your selection with bated breath.
Lainey – nice one! I have a few Fab 4 tracks myself. ‘Penny Lane’ is my favourite.
Larry – I’m not familiar with Jimmy LaFave, but I checked out his myspace and he has a nice sound. He’s pretty prolific too by the looks of it!
All charged… No. 13 of 1437 is
Buried Alive, Dropkick Murphys
Quintessential Dropkicks

Ahhh I haven’t listened to those guys in ages. Nice!
elspeth… v special !
Bon Iver – Blood Bank
That’s one of the few Bon Iver songs I like Chris. For some reason he didn’t grab me with ‘For Emma’ (although I do love the story of him recuperating in the woods and recording it all himself) but ‘Blood Bank’ I do like very much.
Neil Young’s “Distant Camera” from “Silver & Gold”
Not one of my favourites, but you ask for random you get random.
Nice to see you weren’t tempted to try it again until you got another track you liked better AFM!
Amalgamated Sons of Rest – Major March
ASR are Jason Molina, Will Oldham and Alasdair Robert…nice!
Hi Alex – I’ve never heard of ASR, but I’ll be doing some mp3 trawling later on today no doubt, and I’ll endeavour to give them a listen. Thanks for your contribution!
It came out in 2006 on a label called Galaxia…I stumbled across it while looking for more Alasdair Roberts tracks for the station. Don’t think I would have ever known of it otherwise.
