It’s always nice to come across an artist who can put their own mark on a cover song but still stay faithful to the original. This version by NYC singer-songwriter Jay Brannan is a downtempo tribute featuring lovely strings. I think I prefer the drama and grit of The Cranberries original, but it’s still a good listen.

I was listening to this cover today. It’s pretty good, but I’m with you on the original. The vocals especially. Brannan’s a hell of a songwriter, though. His original stuff is worth a listen.

I had a quick listen earlier but need to go back and check him out properly – he’s on my (long) list!

Dont know anything about Jay Brannan, but this a right good cover, albeit not one that will get folk out of their chairs to dance at a party….
Cheers

True – but then I can’t say I’ve ever seen anyone dancing to The Cranberries version either! Perhaps I need to get out more…
