Or something like that. Here’s four of the latest from my ever-expanding covers collection.
Easy Lover (Phil Collins & Phillip Bailey Cover) – Jaded Heart Another metal cover – sorta like the original, only heavier and with that awesome metal scream. Love this.
Sweet Child O’ Mine (Guns ‘N Roses Cover) – Taken By Trees A piano based cover with female vocals – very nice.
Freefallin’ (Live Tom Petty Cover) – Death Cab For Cutie Live covers are usually pretty cool because you get to hear the reaction of the crowd when those first familiar notes start up – this one is no different.
Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go (Wham! Cover) – Shawn Mullins Acoustic cover – I was a little uncertain before I heard this, but it’s actually really well done. Very tongue in cheek too.

Have you ever heard Luna’s cover of “Sweet Child of Mine”? Sublime. I am surprised that I like this Shawn Mullins cover.

Ooh no I haven’t – will have to go a-hunting. The Shawn one is definitely a bit of an odd one – it sounds like it’s going to be all wrong, but I think it works.

I don’t know when this cover explosion started…I just continue to listen though…even when they aren’t too well done. Thanks for these, picked ‘em up! Thanks again for the goodness.

p.s. concurring on the Mullins track.

I don’t know either, but I’m liking it I have to say. I like it especially when an artist covers something completely left field, something outside of their usual genre. They don’t all work though, of course, but they’re always interesting to check out.
