I’ve spoken before of my disappointment with Augie March. And now comes the final nail in the coffin. Here is a taste of their forthcoming album. I sincerely hope this isn’t the lead single – if this is the best track, then I don’t hold great hopes for the rest of the album. Can you listen to it all the way through without turning it off and sighing in despair? I can’t.

A Free Man
I just hooked up my partner’s uncle with Okkervil River and he came back with Augie March. Haven’t listened yet, but sounds like I got the bad end of that deal.

Oh dear! It’s an uneven trade to say the least! Sunset Studies and Moo You Bloody Choir are pretty good, so don’t discount that stuff, but they’ve lost me for now I think.

Hmmm seems like there is that old chestnut of tall poppy syndrome here fellas, ahh so sad really that people have to cut shit down for the sake of it. This new track is awesome, fresh and off the cuff! I love it and am really excited about the new record!
